D.J. I was able find a Russian - English translator on line and I gave it a try. None of the earlier paragraphs in the link you published above seemed to mention Eugenia. However, the final 2 paragraphs did. What follows below is the translation which doesn't seem to take into account English sentence structure and grammar. It is therefore a bit difficult to understand. If this is accurate I can make out most of what he seemed to be saying. Is this similar to the translation you found? In the first of the 2 paragraphs he seems to be saying that despite people hearing that they are romantically involved, she is merely his muse. The 2nd paragraph is a complete mystery to me without more background information on this guy and their past connection. Also, what is April?
